Managed KYC and CDD remediation

Give the backlog a scope and a completion date.

Engage us for a defined remediation project or recurring reviews. We agree the customer population, evidence requirements and escalation route before work begins.

01 · Customer onboarding

Get the ownership evidence before approval.

We review identity documents, trace ownership and control, and screen the relevant parties. For BVI structures, we apply the checks in your approved policy and flag missing links or inconsistent evidence for your approver.

02 · KYC remediation

Close the gaps that keep files open.

An old checklist may miss a beneficial owner. A nominee holding may leave the person behind it unclear. We work through the agreed population, document each gap and track missing evidence and escalations through to handover.

03 · Periodic reviews

Bring overdue customer reviews up to date.

We refresh CDD and screening, review changes in ownership or activity, and document the updated risk assessment. Recurring work follows your BVI review schedule, with trigger-event reviews scoped when circumstances change.

Who we support in the BVI

Review the relationship behind the documents.

An investor subscription and a trust relationship require different evidence. We scope each review around the service you provide, the customer and your firm’s obligations.

Funds and administrators

Investor onboarding, remediation and periodic reviews for BVI fund relationships. We agree the fund’s role, the administrator’s responsibilities and the checks required for the investor population before reviewing files.

Trust and company service providers

Reviews of layered companies, nominee arrangements and trust relationships. We document relevant parties, ownership and control, with unresolved evidence requests visible to the team responsible for approval.

Banks and investment businesses

Customer onboarding and remediation for individual and corporate relationships. We review the expected activity profile and supporting evidence under your methodology, with transaction-monitoring responsibilities agreed separately.

BVI AML Regulations and Code · KYC outsourcing

Keep oversight while we work the files.

The BVI AML framework has specific requirements for beneficial ownership, ongoing CDD and outsourced work. We agree the policy version and review standard for your entity before starting.

Your firm retains ultimate compliance responsibility. We document the checks and unresolved issues so your authorised team can make acceptance and escalation decisions.

Check the BVI AML requirements

Read the BVI AML Regulations, Code and amendments together. Section 46 of the Code addresses outsourcing; Regulation 7 addresses reliance on an introducer. Our BVI AML compliance guide explains the distinction, the 10% beneficial-ownership test and risk-sensitive review cycles.

What you receive

A file your approver can follow.

Each case records the evidence, checks and reviewer’s conclusion. Missing documents and pending approvals remain visible at handover.

Included in the file

Identity and ownership evidence

An indexed file recording the customer, relevant connected parties and the evidence supporting the ownership and control assessment.

Included in the file

Screening and match decisions

Sanctions, PEP and adverse-media checks, with reviewed matches explained and unresolved concerns escalated.

Included in the file

Risk assessment and missing evidence

A proposed risk rating, source of funds or wealth evidence where required, and the questions your authorised team still needs to resolve.

Included in the file

Reviewer notes and handover log

The human reviewer’s conclusions, the checks performed and an exception log that separates completed work from pending decisions.

The process

Start with the case count and your deadline.

  1. 01 · Scope

    Define the population.

Tell us the entity type, number of files and target date. We agree the policy, deliverables, access and price before you send customer documents.

  2. 02 · Work & review

    We work each case.

Agents organise documents and perform the first pass. Qualified compliance reviewers check the evidence and reasoning, then escalate unresolved or higher-risk cases.

  3. 03 · Handover

    Your team decides.

Receive reviewed files and an exception log. Your authorised team makes acceptance and escalation decisions. Recurring reviews follow the schedule you approve.

Already using a fund administrator? Shadow KYC file testing can provide a separately scoped review of existing files. We agree independence and reporting arrangements before starting; file testing is narrower than a programme-wide AML audit.

Scope your KYC backlog
What do your BVI KYC services cover?

Managed customer and investor onboarding, CDD remediation, periodic reviews and trigger-event refreshes for BVI funds, administrators, banks, investment businesses, and trust and company service providers. We agree the legal entity, applicable requirements, policy and case population before starting.

Can you review layered BVI companies and trusts?

Yes. We trace the relevant ownership and control chain and record the evidence for each conclusion. BVI AML checks can require a 10% ownership or voting-rights test for relevant non-listed companies, alongside control through other means. Trusts need checks tailored to their parties and arrangement. We escalate gaps under your policy.

How does managed KYC support our BVI AML obligations?

We complete agreed CDD checks under your policy and return human-reviewed evidence, risk assessments and exceptions for your authorised team. Section 46 of the AML Code sets outsourcing conditions, including a written agreement, provider competence, jurisdiction risk and accessible records. We agree those arrangements before file transfer. Your firm retains ultimate responsibility and oversight, including customer acceptance, high-risk approvals and reporting decisions, subject to everyone’s own statutory duties.

Do you act as our BVI MLRO or file beneficial ownership returns?

This service is operational KYC support. It does not appoint an MLRO, provide registered-agent services or submit corporate beneficial-ownership returns. It also does not create a third-party reliance arrangement. We document the scope and escalation route with your existing team.

Can you check files held by our fund administrator?

Yes. A separately scoped Shadow KYC review can test files against your approved policy and report exceptions. We assess independence, access and reporting arrangements before starting. File testing does not replace a programme-wide independent AML audit or guarantee FSC acceptance.

How much does BVI KYC remediation cost?

We quote per case based on the population, ownership complexity, evidence available and review scope. Share your case count and target date. We confirm pricing, delivery, responsibility for missing documents and data-handling terms in writing before customer files are transferred.
